Ok, days like today are why I choose to live in Texas. Yes, we get the occasional ice storm that shuts everything down for a day or two, but give us a few days and we'll get a beautiful warm day like we had today....perfect for photographing 4 adorable brothers. I know their mommy is very eager to see these images and as much as I'd love to call and let her know a sneak peek is on the blog, I have to remind myself that it IS after midnight . So, I'll have to wait until tomorrow, hope you love them too "W" family!

A boy and his dog
So everyone knows just how much 12 year old boys love to get their portrait taken. Yeah right! They'd rather be doing just about ANYTHING else. Lucky for me, the entire city was covered in ICE so my son Austin had nowhere to hide. He gave me a whole 10 minutes (the dog gave me 2!) but I managed to get some that really show his personality. He REALLY loves that dog, can you tell? And just like all the other 12 year old boys, he ended up really liking his portraits.
A lot of you have asked what a storyboard is. I made some of my favorite images of Austin into a 10x10 storyboard for an example. It will be in my studio for everyone to see. Every storyboard will be unique and special, just like your own child.

ImagingUSA
I just got back from an awesome trip to Phoenix! Thousands of photographers went to our annual Professional Photographers of America convention to learn the newest techniques and shop for the greatest toys on the planet. (the picture is the beautiful view we had from our classes every day at the brand new Phoenix convention center)
I was planning to travel alone but at the last minute found a roomate on a photography forum. We met just once before the trip so we were pretty much strangers when we first got there. I figured that since she was a Texas girl, she had to be great.By the end of the trip we had experienced really bad food and REALLY good food, an evil GPS device that got us lost every time we drove the car, found the Sees Candy store, narrowly escaped a would-be robber, walked the expo (the place where all the photography toys are) till our feet were so so sore, wore really cute, uncomfortable clothes the first few days, wore really comfortable, sorta cute clothes the last day, learned so much our brains hurt, drove to the airport on our last day WITHOUT the help of the evil GPS.
So now I have a really cool photographer friend (Kami) and she lives just around the corner. Thanks for the fun trip girl! Next stop....ImagingUSA 2010 in Tennessee.
Pebblebrook Portraits is Blogging
As I enter my studio into the world of blogging, I feel it is only appropriate to post a couple of images of my sweet little neighbor. This little cutie has been my "practice" subject since the day she was born. Her sweet mommy was so patient with me as I played "mad scientist" and placed her precious child in everything from a toy doll carriage to crazy outfits I made myself. I learned a lot (at their expense) and hopefully have become a better photographer. Thanks for letting me learn and grow sweet "K".
