On Location Newborn Session - DFW Newborn Photographer

I have been asked many times to photograph newborns in their own homes but always said no. Why? I'm not really sure, except that all of my newborn "stuff" is in my studio. Well I decided it was time to try something different and I'm so glad I did. I packed up a bunch of baskets, blankets and hats and headed to this 6 day old's home. It was so much fun being creative with other people's "stuff". This mommy had the most interesting old Amish table with the most beautiful window light. I love the images that we got in that spot. I have never had such a new baby stay awake for so much of the session. She wasn't fussy, just squirmy.....like she knew a party was going on and she didn't want to miss a second of it, lol. Even so, we got some beautiful images! And the best part....after 2 hours of modeling like a pro, this little angel smiled at her grandma. Perfect! Trying to get baby to sleep. (I know it looks like she's sleeping above but that was about a 2 second nap)

Those eyes!!! - Keller Texas Senior Portraits

This girl has the most beautiful eyes ever! The sunlight made them so sparkly. She was up for trying all kinds of new locations and brought great colorful clothes. I just love all of her images.

5 Years Old! - Dallas Fort Worth Texas Family Photographer

This is one of my favorite kiddos to photograph. She is full of personality and has her own little ideas of how a shot should be posed and set up. Most of the time I just go with what she's got in mind.
This was her 5 year old birthday session. I really love this age because they love to act all grown up and show you how well they can "pose" but give them a big green bouncy chair and a handful of balloons and watch the playful child come out again.

Happy in Love - Fort Worth Engagement Photography

I got a chance to do some engagement portraits this past weekend. I'm so glad we picked that weekend instead of yesterday.....it rained buckets! And the lack of wind helped us get that pretty reflection in the water. It worked out great.
These two will be married in October in what sounds like a beautiful outdoor wedding. I love hearing all the wedding details. The dress, the cake, the decorations.....what an exciting time for two people in love.

So Sweet!

This sweet girl was so easy to work with. I kept taking all kinds of "experiment" shots to practice some of the new things I learned at school last week. At one point I apologized and said "thank you for being patient with me while I practice new things" and she said "It's ok, I really like taking pictures!" Like I said, SO SWEET. I seriously will faint if a little BOY ever says that to me. Or for that matter, a DAD.

Class of 2009 - DFW Senior Photographer

Ok, I'm taking bets right now that this beautiful senior will be wearing RED when she meets her future husband. This color is awesome on her! And.....once again, FABULOUS hair! What's up with all the girls coming into my studio with such perfect hair???? Am I the only loser who spends $$ on a cute haircut and then puts it up in a poneytail every single day?

In the Forest

I just got back from an awesome week at Texas School of Photography. Once a year every May photographers meet for a week of sun-up to sun-down intense learning. We get so much training from amazing instructors but the best part is hanging out with other photographers from all over the U.S. (this year we had people from 2 other countries as well) I came home with so many ideas and a head full of creative new things to try with my clients. Before I had even unpacked I went out and got this new lens I learned about. I am so amazed by the clarity and depth of field it creates. My poor dogs were so happy when I finally got a human subject to point my lens at. Now try to look past how 100% STINKIN' CUTE this kid is and see how pretty this lens shoots. I love it and can't wait to see what all I can do with it.

I've got so many sessions to catch up on so if you are waiting for your sneak peek I promise it will be soon!

Also, I lost a few voicemails while at school so if you left me a message and I didn't respond, please call me again!

Funny Baby Girl - Fort Worth Family Photographer

After we got all the shots we needed and no longer needed to keep her hair all neat and cute, I snuck one of my fun new hats on. By the looks of that smile, I think she knew just how ADORABLY funny she looked. I LOVE this 9 month age, they are so happy and sweet and fun.

I love the way children look at their older siblings. You can just see the love and admiration in their eyes.
I will be gone for a week at Texas School of Photography but I wanted to hurry and get just a few images up for you guys. I will work on the rest of your images when I get back. Enjoy the sneak peek!
