Boots and a tutu....perfect for a run in the park!

We had a great session this morning with a couple of super sweet siblings. They came in the cutest outfits and had big bright smiles. We got a WHOLE LOT of beautiful images today and I can't wait for their mom to see them all.
They didn't think I was all that funny so luckily their mom stepped up with her amazing ability to imitate any real or imaginary animal they requested. Mom seriously has a rockin' funny bone because these kids thought she was the coolest thing ever. Note to self....practice chicken and monkey noises....kids really dig it.

This is her telling us she's done with pictures.

Little Blondie

Just a couple for now....isn't she cute? She's got just about the lightest hair I've ever seen.

Vacation!

Just thought I'd post a few pictures from my vacation down in the hill country. This place was heaven on earth! The water is spring-fed so it's chilly but oh so beautiful! It's a public place but not very well known so I'm keeping it's location a big TOP SECRET! (although I have been known to accept cookies or any form of chocolate as a bribe) :)

Last San Antonio Session....sisters.

I ended my San Antonio sessions with these adorable sisters. I had to compete with the ducks and turtles for their attention but with all that natural beauty, how could I not get a great portrait. They did eventually get tired of me following them around with my annoying camera. See 2nd picture below:
Look at picture below......EVERY photographer knows this face....it is the "I've smiled my last smile for you lady, so don't try being funny anymore, it just won't work" face. Yep, we shoot as long as we can but when that face surfaces....we know the party is over.

3 more....

Dressed and ready for the 4th of July. I hope you guys had a fun one. :)

It's just a bird!......

My son and I decided to go to one of those wildlife refuge things in San Antonio. We started out just a little scared of the 4 legged creatures....zebra teeth, the horns of the 2 foot tall goat, powerful bambi....what we really wanted to see was the cute birdie called the ostrich. I mean, how scary could it be? It's just a bird right? Oh, my goodness were we wrong!
It took me all of about 3 seconds to realize that this was no ordinary bird. Why oh why we spent $2 on that extra bag of animal feed I'll never know, because this bird wanted every last bite of it. And throwing the food on the floorboard didn't help because that things neck is like 12 feet long. We tried to drive away but the crazy bird just trotted next to the car with his head inside, all the while staring me in the eye to tell me it was not leaving my car til it was finished eating.
Ok, I think I would have been happier trying to feed the rhinos or lions than this guy.
If you click on this picture you might just see my scared, quivering reflection in his big beady eyes. When visiting the animal refuge, beware of the ostrich!

San Antonio Sessions 4th day shooting

Ok, I know these are a little out of order but I'm just a little spacey that way. This family was so fun to get to know. They were my second to last session in San Antonio so I was really wanting to get some great shots for them before I headed back to DFW. These two boys were so sweet to eachother. You can tell they are good buddies already.

2nd day of shooting in San Antonio

These funny boys kept me running all over the gardens. We had a lot of fun finding new spots and the boys even planned out poses and locations for "their" pictures. They had some great ideas too. Fun, cute family!

Family

When I was 30 years old, my youngest cousin was born. So being the oldest of the cousins and the youngest of the cousins....we will always have that special "wink, wink, we're so cool" thing going on. It's just our special thing we share.
She is such a very sweet girl and I want to wish her a very happy birthday! By the way, the picture above was taken under my uncle's banana trees. You sure don't see many of those up here in the DFW area!

On Location in San Antonio

I had to drop my daughter off for a week at John Newcomb's Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels and thought....maybe I can do some photo sessions that week. So I called my Aunt and asked if she could pass the word around. She only had about a week notice but was awesome at finding quite a few families to do sessions. We chose the Japanese Sunken Gardens in downtown San Antonio for our location. (note to all of my photographer friends....You MUST take a trip down there, it is so pretty). I am going to be working on the images all week but here are a few from my first day. My first session was a VERY photogenic couple. In fact, so photogenic that I think we managed to convince some onlookers that "T"'s hubby was modeling for GQ. Hehe.
Aren't they just beautiful together?

This mother/daughter duo had gorgeous aqua blue eyes. They were very sweet together. (that reminds me...I need to get some pictures with MY mom!) "L", you are so cool and don't be surprised if I randomly pop a cd in the mail to you, full of "waver/punk" music from the 80's.
